Cafe Rhubarbe owners Gary and Michelle bought their business nearly three years ago. From humble beginnings, they have established a great business with a loyal clientele. Locals and passing cyclists on the Great Taste Trail know they can stop in for delicious coffee and food, Gary and Michelle love that the cafe has become a social hub for the village and they have really enjoyed getting to know their community.
Level 4 Covid-19 restrictions were a challenge and meant that the cafe had to remain closed. Although this was a welcome break after the busy summer Gary and Michelle were keen to get up and running again at Level 3, albeit through a gap in the front door and maintaining a 2m distance from customers. They are really looking forward to the time when restrictions ease and they can once again welcome their customers back inside, they miss the buzz and energy of the cafe when it's full of people!
So next time you are riding the trail near Wakefield or passing in your car stop by for a fab coffee and food - let's all shop local and support our businesses to get back on their feet.
